Platinum Nova Goes “Nova”

Is it turquoise? Aquamarine? Teal? Blue-green? Greenish-blue? Sea-green? Just how does one describe that wonderfully pastel color that Platinum Nova uses for its bands and its boxes? Company founder Leonor Abzaradel will happily answer that question for you. “It is Nova!” She enthusiastically explains.

Indeed, Abzaradel identifies the color so closely to her brand that she even includes some “Nova” streaks in her flowing hair. For 2025, Platinum Nova has repackaged its entire line—eschewing the old traditional boxes and replacing them with boxes featuring that beautiful Nova color. At some point in the not-so-distant future, Abzaradel wants people to immediately associate that color with Platinum Nova cigars whenever they walk into a humidor. Along with the color change to the boxes, every box now has a QR code that a person may scan to access complete information about the cigar contained inside the box.

While Platinum Nova may not have introduced a new cigar at this year’s PCA Show, it’s going a long way to build its brand recognition. Who knows, maybe one day Crayola will contain a Nova-colored crayon…
