In Canada, a concentration of cigar events typically surface within a short stretch of months that afford passionados the prime opportunity to revel in comfortable outdoor smoking.
Smack-dab in the middle of July, prominent west-end Toronto tobacconist Cigar Studio hosted their big summer 2025 event titled ‘The Slow Burn Soirée’, an affair set to the backdrop of a large, elegant patio space complete with a pool and private cabanas.
The event was billed as being ‘Rat Pack themed’, complete with music and dancers emblematic of the swinging era.
Dean Martin himself would have surely approved.
“For our events, we like to get creative with themes, and this one turned out to be a Rat-Pack-meets-Miami Vice kinda vibe” says Cigar Studio co-owner and “events guy” Kes Michaelides. Kes and Cigar Studio delivered on an impressive fireworks display while fire-swinging dancers entertained the over 200-attendee crowd that enjoyed a premium selection of cigars that included Perdomo, Kiki Momo and more.
The culinary lineup featured passed canapés and a gourmet buffet prepared by a local chef, while Ottawa-area distiller Dunrobin Distilleries handsomely poured a flight of Canadian whiskies chosen specifically to complement the premium cigar selection.
Though the Canadian launch of the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Habano appeared to steal the spotlight, the crew from Kiki Momo (who had flown in from New York) debuted their Canadian-themed ‘Canuck Cigar’ which served as a unique, well-timed patriotic treat for those lucky enough to be in attendance.
