HumidifGroup Announces Expansion of Cigar Box Factory in Estelí

HumidifGroup today announced the expansion of its Cigar Box Factory (CBF) operations in Estelí, Nicaragua, with the construction of a second, purpose-built manufacturing facility. The new factory, opening in 2026, will significantly increase the company’s production capacity and allow it to offer improved pricing and faster delivery timelines to its global client base.

The success of the original CBF Estelí factory has driven demand beyond current production capacity. In response, HumidifGroup has made the strategic decision to build a second factory. By splitting production between the two factories based on product type and complexity, HumidifGroup will be able to optimize workflows and significantly improve output across its entire product line.

Key benefits of the expansion include:

  • Increased Production Capacity: Greater volume across all packaging types, from standard cigar boxes to custom humidors.
  • Improved Efficiency & Productivity: Dedicated production lines optimized by product type, reducing bottlenecks and increasing throughput.
  • Better Pricing: Operational efficiencies gained through expanded infrastructure will be passed directly to clients.
  • Faster Delivery Timelines: Parallel production across two facilities means shorter lead times and more reliable delivery windows.

“This expansion is a direct result of the trust our clients have placed in us over the past decade. We built Cigar Box Factory Estelí to be the most versatile wooden packaging manufacturer in Nicaragua and now we’re building the infrastructure to serve our clients at a scale that matches their ambitions. Better pricing, faster timelines, and the same uncompromising quality. That’s what this expansion means,” explained Pedro Balgañon.

The company will be showcasing its new factory and expanded capabilities at the PCA Annual Convention & Trade Show 2026. Cigar brands, distributors, and industry professionals are invited to visit HumidifGroup at Booth #1519 during the show.
