Polpetta by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is a bold reinvention of the premium handmade cigar, masterfully blending innovation and tradition. Created by Steve Saka, this petite robusto (4 x 48) celebrates the art of cigar making by utilizing the finest chaveta cuts from top Broadleaf ligas, including Mi Querida, Mi Querida Triqui Traca, Umbagog, and Red Meat Lovers. Only top-grade table trimmings are carefully skill-blended with select long-leaf tripas to create a rich, consistent flavor that rivals many long-filler cigars—redefining what a “sandwich-style” cigar can be.
- Hand-selected Broadleaf chaveta cuts from acclaimed DTT blends
- Premium Mexican San Andrés Negro binder for robust structure and depth
- Luxurious Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper for rich flavor and visual appeal
- Packed short robusto size (4 x 48) delivers a surprisingly long smoke (45-50 minutes)
- Complex flavor profile with dark chocolate, black coffee, leather, earth, and subtle pepper
- Outstanding construction and performance—cool burn, excellent ash retention, perfect draw
- Exceptional value—affordable luxury for daily enjoyment
Polpetta delivers a distinctive, evolving profile thanks to its superior mixed-filler recipe. The cigar launches with notes of leather and dark chocolate, merging into black coffee, earth, and faint floral and pepper accents. Expect a gradual build in body, culminating in a full, satisfying finish. Despite its compact size, Polpetta smokes longer than expected and holds its own against traditional long-filler cigars in both flavor and construction. The San Andrés binder reinforces structure while contributing a gentle smokiness and sweetness for balance.
Handcrafted at the Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA) factory, Polpetta stands out for its flawless performance—razor-sharp burn, robust smoke, and firm ash—even as a mixed-filler cigar. This little powerhouse is celebrated for its remarkable quality, approachable price, and box-worthy experience, whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or exploring premium cigars for the first time.

Dunbarton does it again. I think Dunbarton probably has some of the best cigars in my humidor. These little guys are great if you are trying to get a quick smoke it.

Really enjoyed this little stick from DTT! Had leather, spiced earth and faint pepper. This gave me a solid 45-50 min on it. Construction was great and flavors definitely popped for me. Not a ton of transitions as this is a short smoke but super glad I was able to grab a few. I’m curious to see how well they will age. As always the best prices at Oxford!

These little guys hit the spot. We have waiting half a year for them to finally land and it’s been years since I’ve had one.
There isn’t a lot of room for transition but flavors consist of leather, spice, and dark chocolate notes. They deliver that broadleaf package over 45 minutes. I find these short filler sticks burn well and are less prone to tight rolls. Glad these have become regular production and I’m sure they will age well.

Dunbarton has some great sticks but don’t overlook this little guy. I think this is in my top 10 best cigars I’ve ever smoked. Maybe it’s the mix of the premium tobacco scraps and long filler that make this stick so amazing. I’ll forever buy this cigar and you should too. If you want a quick enjoyable full flavor smoke grab one for yourself.

This is one of those rare cigars that you take a chance on and are pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it is! I love this cigar so much as a daily smoke that I bought two boxes of them lately. I can’t seem to get enough. It’s chocolatey, leathery notes. Highly recommended and will honestly say it is a cigar you will not regret smoking.

Short but boy does it pack a punch with flavor! I wouldn’t even call this a quick smoke because the flavor and profile are so profound. I wish I had bought a box instead, but the 5ver will do for now.

I am told that the people that created this cigar did so in order to use the leftover leaves from their finer cigars. Well, I can tell you that for the price this is one of the best cigars you will find on the market. Yes the burn the construction the flavor are all worthy of a 90+ rating, but what I find to be the most important is that this cigar is enjoyable over a short amount of time because it is a relatively small cigar. I would recommend this to a new smoker or an experienced smoker

What an excellent short smoke. Regardless of having no transition or complexity; it has a beautiful leather, dark chocolate and coffee profile. The strength starts low and amps up to full after a few puffs and stayed there. Towards the end there was a subtle note of black peppercorn. I have got to say the Polpetta comes with excellent flavor package considering the price tag. Box worthy.

A dense, tightly packed little stick that burned beautifully and produced good smoke. The profile was leather and earth with some pepper and a bit of black coffee on the follow. A real gem and quite a bargain at the price.

This is an absolute chocolate bomb! 45 minutes of broadleaf goodness. Construction was flawless. Draw was great, burn line was razor sharp and the ash held on through the second third. Mixed filler or not, this is a box buy all day. DTT homerun per usual.

This is the perfect second smoke for me when I finish my first but can’t commit to another robusto or toro. I lean more towards mild-medium smokes and am not a fan of pepper bombs. Very well balanced but not TOO bold or peppery. Even though this is a cuban sandwich, you can absolutely tell the tobacco is of a higher quality vs most other mixed filler cigars. I’ll likely keep at least a few of these in my humidor for specific occasions

I love these things. It’s not as quick of a cigar as it logically should be, not sure how they are making it burn so long but I easily get a half hour of broadleaf goodness out of these, and I could probably get 40 minutes if I was trying. The flavor is medium, somewhere between Mi Querida Blue and Sobremesa, really nice. My favorite short filled cigar, and it’s not close.
