The Cigar Smoking World Championship grand finale will be live streamed again. The main event of the season was live streamed for the first time last year, and it was big news when it was first announced a couple of weeks prior to the event.
“Gone are the days of wondering, of being left in the dark,” Bilic said then. “Now, the stage is set for a global spectacle. As the competitors gather to showcase their prowess and determination, you’ll have a front-row seat from the comfort of your own screen. Feel the excitement, light up your cigar, immerse yourself in the camaraderie, and cheer for your favorite contenders as they vie for the ultimate victory in the realm of slow smoking.”
On August 31 the final is held in Dubrovnik. Competitors from 51 countries, including 46 national champions, will fight for the title on this historic occasion, as it’s the first time it takes place outside of Split. Just like last year, it will be broadcasted on the CSWC YouTube channel, and the goal is to beat last year’s attendance. According to Bilić they reached at least 10,000 viewers in 2023.
“Cigar lounges and clubs from around the world hosted viewing parties, where aficionados gathered to cheer on their countrymen, proudly waving their flags in support,” Bilic says. “This year, we expect even more gatherings as the global cigar community comes together to celebrate this unique sport. It’s not just about supporting favorites; it’s about showing the world that the cigar community has its own rightful place in the world of sports and challenges.”
He also confirms there will be moving cameras, an improvement he promised already last year.
“This allows viewers to witness every moment of this prestigious competition now called “Formula 1” of cigar world, from close-up shots of the competitors to panoramic views of the grand stage,” he says.
The live broadcast will start at 4:30 pm CEST, and it will continue until the final puff and a new world champion is named.
